Bank Anchorage north of the Joulters
25° 24.4′ N · 78° 12.3′ W
An overnight stop on the Great Bahama Bank north of the Joulter Cays for boats crossing from Bimini toward Morgan's Bluff or the Tongue of the Ocean.
Practical
Position from ActiveCaptain (2024 review). Anchored in 12 ft over grass and sand south of the marker; held in 15 knots from the south. Andros and the sand bars cut down the fetch, but it feels like the middle of nowhere. Exit east through the Jupiter Cay Passage (see passages): the reviewer saw nothing under 11 ft on the ebb.
Best for
Breaking the Bimini to Andros crossing
