Anchorage· North Andros· Bahamas — Eleuthera, Andros & the Out Islands

Cross Cay Anchorage (North Andros west side)

25° 8.3′ N · 78° 14.7′ W

A secluded cay on the shallow west side of North Andros, a rare stop on the banks with a shell beach, green-flash sunsets and nothing else for miles.

Practical

Position from ActiveCaptain (2025 review). Approach from the west straight to the island. Anchor in sand about 200 yards off in about 7 ft; the shallows extend far out, so walk the dinghy in to the beach. Good wave protection in S to NE winds, but limited wind protection and none from the west; it got rolly when the wind clocked SW. Tide about 3 ft, running roughly 5 hours behind Fresh Creek per the reviewer. Biting horse flies in April. No services.

Best for

Solitude on the west side banks in easterlies
