Abraham's Bay Reef Anchorage East (Guano Point)

22° 21.2′ N · 72° 59.1′ W

The east end of Abraham's Bay, tucked behind the fringing reef off Guano Point a short dinghy run from the settlement: clear sand, crystal water and the island's only real access to town.

Practical

Waterway Guide position 22°21.200'N 72°59.100'W, about 6.5 ft; noforeignland 'Abraham Bay Reef East' (22°21.196'N 72°59.015'W) reports 7-9 ft MLW in clear sand. Holding excellent in sand with scattered heads; tidal range about 3-4 ft. Wind protection rated good NW through E; open SE through SW, though the reef breaks up most of the sea - waves are usually under 2 ft but it gets rolly at high tide. One crew sat out a 30-knot N/NE blow here without trouble (Mar 2025). Closer to the beach it shoals quickly. Do NOT try to take the big boat toward the concrete dock: the 'channel' scar is a dinghy route only, barely 1 ft at low tide. Trash and water are available at the dinghy dock (2024 review). Shallow drafts best; it is a long, wet dinghy ride in a fresh breeze.
