Beach· Elbow Cay· Bahamas — North

Tahiti Beach

26° 30.1′ N · 76° 59.1′ W

A curving sandbar at the southern tip of Elbow Cay that dries at low tide into a long white tongue in turquoise water, with turtles, rays and the occasional shark along the edge of Tilloo Cut.

Practical

Best at mid to low tide when the sandbar is exposed (Southern Boating). Good fishing along the edge of Tilloo Cut, shelling on the east side. The road from Hope Town dead-ends at a small car park here (boote-magazin), so it gets day visitors. A floating bar, the Thirsty Cuda, operates offshore in season. Anchor in the Tahiti Beach Anchorage and dinghy in.
