Snorkel· Grand Bahama· Bahamas — North
Silver Point Reef (shallow barrier reef)
26° 29.2′ N · 78° 40.7′ W · approximate
The shallow south-shore barrier reef off Silver Point, rising from about 20 ft almost to the surface: elkhorn and brain coral, parrotfish and angelfish, good for snorkelers and night dives.
Practical
Position is the rounded site position from SailAbacos, not a surveyed fix. Grand Bahama Scuba describes the barrier reef as a good beginner and night-dive site, with octopus, lobster and crinoids after dark. Snorkel from a dive boat or an operator's mooring; the reef is exposed to southerly swell.
Best for
Easy reef snorkel and night dive
