Old Bahama Bay Resort & Yacht Harbour (West End)

The classic Gulf Stream landfall: a jettied resort marina at the very western tip of Grand Bahama, about 55 nm from Palm Beach, with fuel, Customs and Immigration on the dock and a beach and pool steps from your slip. It is the island's only night-navigable port of entry, which is why so many crossings from Florida end here.

Position is the marina basin (OpenStreetMap). The marina's own published GPS, 26 42.189 N / 78 59.872 W, plots just west of the jetties and works as the approach waypoint. 63 slips for boats to 120 ft LOA, controlling depth 8 ft at mean low tide, 30 ft minimum charge, 24-hour security. Fuel dock with high-speed 92-octane gasoline and diesel. Call 'Old Bahama Bay' on VHF 16, then switch to 10, for a slip; dockmaster check-in 9 am to 5 pm; reservations need a credit card. Boats staying aboard pay a $20/night resort fee on top of dockage (rates on the marina's rates page; confirm before arrival). By day a 100-ft red-and-white water tower marks West End from about 5 nm; the entrance is between two jetties with a 30-ft weather tower on the port-side jetty tip. An older cruiser guide (2012) lists RO water at a mandatory $15/day, guest laundry, Wi-Fi and bikes; verify locally. After Hurricane Matthew (2016) the docks had no power or water for months, so check status after any storm.
