Gold Rock Beach
26° 36.0′ N · 78° 24.3′ W
Grand Bahama's most beautiful beach: at low tide the sea pulls back to reveal a vast rippled sand flat the locals call the island's 'welcome mat'. USA Today voted it the best beach in the Caribbean in 2018.
Practical
Position from OpenStreetMap. Reached on the Lucayan National Park boardwalk across the Gold Rock Creek mangroves; park fees and weekend hours apply. BBQ pits, picnic tables and benches only, no other amenities (Ministry of Tourism). Time your visit for low tide (see Settlement Point tide predictions, NOAA 9710441). An offshore coral nursery run by BNT with the Freeport Harbour Company grows up to 250 elkhorn and staghorn corals.
