Peterson Cay Anchorage (day stop)
26° 33.2′ N · 78° 31.5′ W · approximate
A fair-weather lunch stop in the lee of Peterson Cay, close enough to swim or dinghy to the reef and the beach.
Practical
Position is derived: placed about 0.15 nm northwest of the cay (OpenStreetMap islet position), on the shore side; there is no published anchorage waypoint, so approach in good light and sound in. Drop in sand only, well clear of coral heads and of the coral nursery to the southwest. Whole park is no-take (BNT). Open to the south and to swell; a day stop in settled easterly weather, not an overnight anchorage. The cay lies about 6.5 nm ENE of the Bell Channel entrance buoy.
Best for
Lunch hook and snorkel in calm weather
Season
