Chub Cay West Anchorage

25° 24.6′ N · 77° 54.5′ W

The anchorage just east of the Chub Cay channel off the resort beach, sandy grass with excellent cell signal, used by boats waiting to clear or staging for the Northwest Channel or Nassau.

Practical

ActiveCaptain position ('Chub Cay - 1', 49 reviews, average 3.3). Enter the channel and head back toward the beach as far as your draft allows. Sandy grass bottom. Open to the south; surge and roll in southerlies. Reviews from 2021 mention a no-fishing zone and paid day passes, but the marina's 2026 site says the island is members-only and non-members may not land or roam unescorted, so do not count on going ashore. A second marker west of the channel ('Chub Cay - 2', 25.4121, -77.9123) is approached from the south via the channel markers, swinging northwest. Mind the missing green piling at the channel.

Best for

Waiting to clear in, or a night before the NE Providence Channel
