Cash, ATMs and banking in the Exumas
23° 30.6′ N · 75° 45.7′ W
George Town is effectively the only place in the Exumas with real banking. Everywhere north of it is cash-only or card-with-a-surcharge at marinas. Draw enough in Nassau or George Town to cover the whole cruise.
Practical
GEORGE TOWN: Bank of the Bahamas, RBC, Scotiabank all with ATMs; short weekday hours, and ATMs run out of cash in high season and around regattas. US dollars accepted 1:1. STANIEL CAY: one ATM at the Flyin' Pig Cafe — frequently empty or offline, do not depend on it. BLACK POINT, LITTLE FARMER'S, COMPASS CAY, WARDERICK WELLS: NO ATM, NO bank, cash only. Marinas generally take cards; village stores, laundry, propane fills, guides and park landing fees generally do not. Carry small bills — change is scarce.
