Fox Island (Resurrection Bay)
59° 55.3′ N · 149° 20.2′ W · approximate
The largest of the bay's five islands, lying near the entrance on the east side. Sandspit Point State Marine Park, with a lagoon for waterfowl, sea otters and eagles, is on it, and Kenai Fjords Tours runs a summer lodge here.
Practical
Position is the centre of the island polygon in OSM, which labels it Renard Island with Fox Island as an alternative name; the exact lodge dock position was not found (unconfirmed). Day tours reach the island in a short boat ride from Seward, per tour listings. Alaska State Parks lists Sandspit Point, Sunny Cove, Driftwood Bay and Safety Cove as nearby marine parks; Driftwood Bay offers little protection and is generally not recommended for anchoring, while Safety Cove has somewhat better anchorage.
