Trois-Îlets Bourg Anchorage
14° 32.7′ N · 61° 2.3′ W
A quiet anchorage off the old village of Trois-Îlets, near the three small islets that give it its name (Thébloux, Charles and Sixtain), away from the Anse Mitan crowds but still on the ferry line to the city.
Practical
ActiveCaptain: approach straight in and mind the 4 ft shoal marked in guidebooks. Noonsite (Sept 2023) warns of many shoals in this area and recommends the western side off the old resort, out of the path of the ferries, which do not slow down. The old pontoon at the head of the bay is gone; only the concrete footings remain. Bottom is mud and weed, and one 2014 visitor dragged in a light breeze. A 2024 reviewer found it much calmer than Fort-de-France. Dinghy to the fishing dock (leave room for the ferries) or beach and lock to a palm tree. Noonsite lists the Trois-Îlets dinghy dock as a theft spot. Covered fruit and vegetable market most days by the bakery, and an EcoMax supermarket 15 minutes' walk (ActiveCaptain).
Best for
A calm overnight close to Trois-Îlets museums and market
