Table du Diable and Îlet Cabrits Day Anchorage
14° 23.7′ N · 60° 52.3′ W · approximate
A wild, daytime-only stop just round the southern tip of Martinique, between Pointe des Salines and Îlet Cabrits, with good snorkelling and the Atlantic breaking on the Table du Diable.
Practical
Position is approximate, derived between Pointe des Salines and Îlet Cabrits (OSM). Multihulls World calls it an exceptional anchorage less than 4 miles from the marina, but daytime only because the Atlantic swell can become unpleasant and quite violent. Their boat touched bottom and slalomed between unseen rocks with a local skipper. Enter only in good light, settled weather and with local knowledge. Lobster-pot floats are everywhere on this coast.
Best for
Experienced crews in settled weather: lunch and snorkel
Season
Settled trades only; avoid in swell
