Smugglers Cove (Cap Estate)
14° 6.0′ N · 60° 57.0′ W
A small sandy cove near the island's northern tip at Cap Estate, popular as a beginner dive and snorkel site, with trenches and shelves further out.
Practical
Coordinate is the OpenStreetMap beach outline. The Saint Lucia Tourism Authority's dive guide describes Smugglers' Cove as an ideal beginners' site: secluded sandy beach, max about 40 ft (12 m) from the boat, with flying gurnard, lobster and large trumpetfish. Nearby Saline Point (in front of the LeSport hotel) is the island's most northerly dive site, 20-60 ft, good for snorkelling with beach entry possible. Day stop by dinghy or tender from Rodney Bay in settled weather only; exposed to north swell.
Best for
A calm-day snorkel or dive north of Rodney Bay
Season
