Fort Rodney and Signal Peak Hike (Pigeon Island)
14° 5.6′ N · 60° 57.9′ W
A short, steep walk through dry coastal scrub to Fort Rodney's cannon and then to Signal Peak, Pigeon Island's high point, with a view across Rodney Bay, Gros Islet and the St Lucia Channel toward Martinique.
Practical
Coordinate is the OpenStreetMap summit node 'Signal Hill'; Fort Rodney's ruins are just south-west (OpenStreetMap way 106468196). Paths start near the interpretation centre and Jambe de Bois dinghy dock. Short but steep and rocky in places; take water and go early or late (Saint Lucia Tourism Authority). Rodney cleared the island of trees to keep these sightlines (Wikipedia). Included in the Pigeon Island park entry fee.
Best for
Sunset or early-morning view over the north of the island
