The sheltered little beach inside the national landmark, with calm water and rocky edges full of reef fish: an easy first snorkel after arriving in St Lucia.

Practical

Coordinate is the OpenStreetMap beach outline on the south side of Pigeon Island. The Saint Lucia Tourism Authority describes calm, sheltered water ideal for beginners; the Pigeon Island dive site at the base of the island runs from about 15 ft over sand and coral to 60 ft, with eagle rays, morays, lobster and barracuda seen regularly. Landing by dinghy at the Jambe de Bois dock; park fee applies ashore. Keep clear of swimmers when running a dinghy in.
