Saline Bay Anchorage (Mayreau)

12° 38.2′ N · 61° 23.9′ W

Mayreau's main leeward bay, a long tree-lined beach with the ferry jetty, quieter than Salt Whistle and the closest anchorage to the hilltop village.

Practical

Position is Noonsite's Saline Bay waypoint. Anchor off the beach at the southern end; holding is good. It gets busy when a cruise ship is in, and the first night can be rolly. Moorings were re-installed in early 2022 by Patrick 'Papa San' Forde after inspection and upgrade; check any mooring. The dinghy dock is by the ferry wharf at the south end; turn left at the end of the dock for the road up to the village. No ATM on the island, and the shops' card machines are unreliable - bring EC cash. No rubbish bins: take garbage with you. The bay is within the Tobago Cays Marine Park. Security: dinghy and outboard theft has occurred; lift and lock at night.

Best for

A calmer, less crowded Mayreau overnight close to the village
