Port St Charles Clearance

13° 15.8′ N · 59° 38.7′ W

Barbados's second port of entry: a law-enforcement centre on the Port St Charles breakwater where Customs, Immigration, Port Health and the Coast Guard share one room.

Practical

Position is the end of the breakwater from the Ocean Cruising Club port report (13°15.769'N, 59°38.685'W). A cruiser wrote in November 2025: anchor outside, dinghy to the marina, and you'll find all officials in one room at the inner end of the breakwater; quick and friendly. The OCC report adds that you can tie up at the fuel dock to clear, that officers come to the boat, and that fees match Bridgetown. A European crew in 2019 paid only BBD 100 to the Port Captain on departure. Duty-free fuel is available on clearing out, cash only. Pre-register on SailClear. When clearing in, ask Customs for permission if you want to anchor anywhere other than off Port St Charles or in Carlisle Bay. Many cruisers clear in here easily and clear out in Bridgetown, which they find harder.

Best for

Painless clearance in or out, plus duty-free fuel
