Port Egmont Anchorage

12° 0.1′ N · 61° 43.3′ W · approximate

Port Egmont and Petite Calivigny Bay are deep, mangrove-lined inlets east of Calivigny Island and among the best-protected anchorages on the south coast. Le Phare Bleu Marina and its lightship sit at the head of the bay.

Practical

Position is approximate, in the bay south-east of Le Phare Bleu Marina, checked to be in the water against the OSM coastline. Approach by the marked channel to Le Phare Bleu (Noonsite). Boats anchored at Egmont came through Hurricane Ivan in 2004 (2011 cruiser report, Dietrich). Boat International's 2026 itinerary calls Petite Calivigny a safe overnight anchorage among the mangroves. You can dinghy through the cut to Clarkes Court Bay, Hog Island and the Woburn bus dock (Noonsite). Le Phare Bleu has the nearest restaurants, laundry and provisions. Depth and holding details were not verified; ask the marina.
