Paget Farm Whalers and Whaling Beach
12° 59.4′ N · 61° 16.2′ W · approximate
The fishing village by the airport where Bequia's last whaleboat crews keep their double-ended sailing boat on the beach beside a bar decorated with painted whale bones and a bone listing the whalers' names.
Practical
Position is the OpenStreetMap 'Atheal Ollivierre Beach' outline at Paget Farm (approx). A 2022 cruiser met chief whaler and harpooner Kingsley Stowe here; the boat sits on the beach next to the whalebone-decorated bar. Toko's Step Down Bar, a waterside café used by fishermen and whalers, serves sea-to-table food (National Geographic). Fishermen leave about 3:00 am and are back mid-morning. Reach by taxi or the airport road; not an anchorage.
