Havre du Robert Anchorage

14° 40.2′ N · 60° 55.8′ W

A deep, well-buoyed bay with an easy entrance, the most accessible harbour on the windward coast. Islets, mangrove creeks and sandbanks give a choice of quiet pockets.

Practical

Position from Anchorages.co (inner bay). The entrance is easy with perfect buoyage, and commercial ships use it (Multihulls World). Douglas Yacht Services calls it the all-weather entrance to the windward lagoons. Wavetrain (2016) anchored in the outermost pocket on the south shore off Pointe La Rose, alone, with flat water and surf breaking on the reef ahead. Noonsite calls it a sheltered location with white-sand beaches and good diving. Choose from the anchorages off Îlet Madame, Îlet Chancel and Baie Coco (see separate entries). Ashore in Le Robert are markets, a Carrefour, pharmacies and the Marina du Robert (OSM). Lobster pots are thick on the approaches.
