Grenada Cruisers Net (VHF 66)

12° 0.0′ N · 61° 45.8′ W · approximate

The Grenada Cruisers Net is a morning VHF net run by and for cruisers on the south coast. It covers weather, security, local events, buy-and-swap, new arrivals and departures, and convoy planning for the passage to Trinidad.

Practical

Position is a nominal point in Prickly Bay, where the net is centred; it is a radio service, not a place. The net runs Monday to Saturday at 7:30 am on VHF 66 INTERNATIONAL (not 66A), per Noonsite and Dietrich. Most cruisers stand by on VHF 68 during the day. Cruisers also announce shopping buses, the Hash, yoga and music nights. The net can be heard as far as Carriacou (Dietrich, 2013). For emergencies call the Grenada Coast Guard on VHF 16 or +1 473 444 1931. The Coast Guard runs search and rescue through MRSC Grenada (CSSN, verified July 2025). For the Trinidad passage, North Post Radio keeps 24/7 watch on VHF 16 and AIS out to Grenada's south coast (CSSN).
