Gouyave Nutmeg Processing Station
12° 10.0′ N · 61° 43.8′ W · approximate
The Gouyave Nutmeg Processing Station, known locally as 'the Nutmeg Pool', is one of Grenada's largest nutmeg factories. Workers sort, grade and bag nutmeg and mace by hand, much as they have for generations.
Practical
Position is approximate, at the Gouyave town coordinate (Wikipedia); the factory is in town. The tour costs US$1 (GTA, Secret Harbour booklet), phone +1 473 444 8337. You can have a jute bag stencilled, and 'Nutmeg World' sells spices. The booklet gives tour hours of Monday to Friday 8:30 am–3:30 pm. Combine it with Fish Friday or the Diamond Chocolate Factory.
