Gelliceaux Bay (Mustique)
12° 51.8′ N · 61° 11.4′ W · approximate
A small, sheltered bay on Mustique's south-west tip whose 'super-still' water makes it one of the island's calmest snorkelling spots.
Practical
Position is the OpenStreetMap bay node 'Gacilaux Bay' (node 8173664319), the map's spelling of Gelliceaux, approx; just south-west of Lagoon Bay around the island's south-west tip. Y.CO recommends snorkelling off Gelliceaux beach, and YachtCharterFleet describes the south-west side as clear water suited to snorkelling and paddleboarding. Mustique waters are a conservation area: no fishing or spearguns, and yachts may not anchor outside Britannia Bay. Shore access is through private villa land, so ask the Moorings Office (VHF 16/68) whether a visit is allowed; do not land on private beaches.
Best for
Calm-water snorkel, if visitor access is allowed
Season
Afternoons in easterly trades; avoid in north-west swell
