Britannia Bay Moorings (Mustique)

12° 52.7′ N · 61° 11.4′ W

The only place a visiting yacht may stop on Mustique: a mooring field off the jetty, Basil's Bar and Lovell village on the private island of villas, beaches and royalty, with turtles grazing between the boats.

Practical

Position from Noonsite (12°52.7'N, 61°11.4'W). Moorings are run by the Mustique Company; call the Moorings Office on VHF 16 or 68 before arrival or email moorings@mustique.vc. Noonsite (May 2025) fees: up to 70 ft EC$200/US$75, 71-85 ft EC$300/US$110, covering up to three nights (pay one night, two more consecutive nights free); the 2019 company leaflet listed EC$220/US$85 for up to 70 ft, and EC$450-1,000 for larger boats (verify locally). Anchoring may be allowed only if all moorings are full and is prohibited elsewhere. Mustique waters are a conservation area: 5-knot speed limit (turtles and swimmers), holding tanks required (no discharge), no jet skis, water-skis, spearguns or fishing, no drones, and no photographing private homes or guests. Day-tour head tax for non-Vincentians was EC$40 per person (2019). No chandlery or mechanical services. SVG Yachting (2025): secure in typical easterly conditions, though light swell can roll in during north-westerly winter systems. Moorings office hours (2019): Monday-Friday 8:00 am-12:00 pm and 1:00-6:00 pm, Saturday to 5:00 pm, Sunday 9:00 am-12:00 pm and 1:00-4:00 pm.
