Cap Chevalier and Îlet Chevalier Day Anchorage
14° 25.9′ N · 60° 49.8′ W · approximate
A turquoise lagoon off one of Martinique's best-known windsurf and kite beaches, with Îlet Chevalier a short dinghy ride away and the small-boat ferry 'Taxi Cap' running from the shore.
Practical
Position is approximate, derived inside the lagoon between Cap Chevalier and Îlet Chevalier (OSM). Multihulls World calls it a superb daytime-only anchorage with the seabed close under the keel. The entrance is narrow, badly buoyed and 'quite sporting' among the breakers. Day stop only, in settled weather and good light. Kiters use the zone between the cape and the islet (vvanat), so keep clear. Restaurants ashore at the Cap include Chez Gracieuse and Man Soufran (OSM).
