Barbados's small marine trade is clustered around Carlisle Bay and the Careenage, held together by an active racing scene: basic chandlery, outboard and diesel repair, and haul-out at the Shallow Draught.
Practical
Position is a point on Bay Street just north of the Barbados Yacht Club, derived from Noonsite's description of where MPS chandlery is (approx). Noonsite (December 2025): Bridgetown has two chandleries with limited marine hardware. MPS, north of the yacht club, carries basic stock; a 2017 cruiser found MPS (Marine Power Solutions) very helpful at ordering parts. Fisherman's Corner, on the north side of the Careenage, also carries basics. Most diesel and outboard repair can be done because all major manufacturers are represented, but spare parts are limited, so order early. The Barbados Yacht Club can point you to parts and service and hold parts as poste restante. Haul-out and dry storage are at the Shallow Draught harbour through Barbados Port Inc. Bridgetown is the only place in Barbados for yacht repairs (Noonsite).
