Anse Madame Beach (Schœlcher)

14° 37.1′ N · 61° 6.2′ W

A black-sand town beach with calm water next to Schœlcher's sailing club, with a children's play area. Turtles are often seen in the bay.

Practical

Martinique tourism lists Anse Madame among the places to look for turtles (with Anse Dufour, Anse Noire and Le Carbet). Neighbouring beaches: Madiana and La Batelière (resort beaches) and Case Navire (OSM). Land the dinghy at the town dock rather than on the beach. Position from OSM.

Best for

A swim and turtle-spotting next to the Schœlcher anchorage
