Admiralty Bay Moorings (Bequia)
13° 0.5′ N · 61° 14.4′ W · approximate
Privately laid mooring balls scattered through Admiralty Bay, rented out by local operators who meet arriving boats in their launches. A mooring off the Frangipani or the Belmont Walkway puts you a few strokes from town.
Practical
Position is approximate: placed in the inner bay off Belmont, where moorings are densest (no official mooring field exists). Moorings are private and unregulated: Chris Doyle (via Noonsite, 2016) said most operators then charged EC$60 a night and that the balls have no legal standing, so dive on any mooring to check it. Cruiser reports give EC$40-50 a night in 2017-2019 (verify locally). Known operators in cruiser reports include 'Mr Blue Sky' (Nimrod) and 'Phat Shag' (Fitz), who collect fees daily. Noonsite's 2024 docking page repeats: if you use a mooring, dive down to check it - you may be surprised. Because the bay is crowded you may end up far from shore. Bequia Marina (Yacht Club) has also rented moorings (4 listed by Marinas.com). Agree the price and how long you are staying before tying up.
