Hike· St John· Virgin Islands (BVI, USVI and Spanish Virgins)
Salt Pond & Drunk Bay
18° 18.5′ N · 64° 42.2′ W
A short walk past a salt pond (sometimes pink, sometimes with flamingos) to wind-blasted Drunk Bay, where visitors build figures from washed-up coral.
Practical
Position is the GNIS point for Salt Pond (the lake). Drunk Bay Trail is about 0.3 mile and 20 minutes from the south end of Salt Pond Beach; not a swimming beach; sargassum at times (island guide). Flamingos are seen at the pond at various times of year, and natural sea salt crusts at its back edge (island guide). Easy add-on to the Ram Head hike.
Best for
A short walk with birds and BVI views
