Late-summer closures in the southern chain
18° 23.1′ N · 64° 30.8′ W · approximate
The southern chain's shoreside businesses take a break at the height of hurricane season: Cooper Island Beach Club closed from August 3 to November 1, 2026, and Pirates Bight's posted season runs October to July.
Practical
Placed at Cooper Island Beach Club. Cooper Island Beach Club (2026): entire resort closed from August 3, 2026, reopening November 1, 2026; restaurant, rum bar, coffee box and mooring field marked 'closed for the season' (Yacht Warriors gave August 3 to October 26 for the previous year). Pirates Bight lists its hours, 11 am to 9 pm daily, for 'October 2026 thru to July 2027'. Peter Island Resort reopened in December 2024 and has not published 2026 closure dates (Yacht Warriors, 2026); its fuel dock and marina were operating through at least July 2026 (marinas.com reviews). Peter Island's marina rules require boats to leave and seek a hurricane shelter when a storm approaches. If you sail in August to October, check each business before planning dinner ashore, and carry your own provisions and trash bags.
