A restored network of historic paths linking Prince Frederik's Battery, Fort Willoughby, Cowell's Battery and the signal station high on Hassel Island, with some of the best views over Charlotte Amalie harbor.

Position approximate: the OpenStreetMap 'Cowell's Trailhead' point. The trail system was rebuilt with National Park Foundation grants and private donors, including a Diageo-funded section from Prince Frederik's Battery to Cowell's Battery and Signal Station (hasselisland.org). Status: hasselisland.org reports the NPS-owned trails closed to visitors since the 2017 hurricanes and overgrown; visits to the government-owned portion are by St. Thomas Historical Trust tour only. Check before going ashore.
