Charlotte Amalie Waterfront Dinghy Landing (Coast Guard Station)

18° 20.4′ N · 64° 56.0′ W · approximate

The downtown landing on the Charlotte Amalie waterfront, behind the break wall at the Coast Guard station by Kings Wharf, putting you a block from Fort Christian, Main Street shopping and the CBP office at the Blyden terminal.

Practical

Position approximate: the waterfront west of Kings Wharf (OpenStreetMap coastline). Noonsite: you can tie up downtown behind the break wall at the Coast Guard station; it reports dinghy thefts from the waterfront dock near the Coast Guard station, so lock dinghy and outboard. Coast Pilot: the waterfront is a concrete marginal wharf with 4 to 18 ft alongside used by small sailing vessels, ferries, harbor tour boats and a hotel water taxi; Kings Wharf, a 300 ft finger pier east of the waterfront, is used by Coast Guard vessels (9 ft north side, 13 ft south side in 1982). The Coast Guard Marine Safety Detachment's mailing address is 3300 Veterans Drive.
