CBP Charlotte Amalie (Edward Wilmoth Blyden Marine Terminal)

18° 20.3′ N · 64° 56.3′ W · approximate

St. Thomas's designated U.S. Customs and Border Protection inspection site for private boats, in the downtown ferry terminal on the Charlotte Amalie waterfront. Every yacht arriving from the BVI or any foreign port reports here (or by ROAM app if eligible).

Practical

Position approximate: the OpenStreetMap ferry-terminal point for the Edward Wilmoth Blyden IV Marine Terminal on Veterans Drive. CBP (2026 page): the master must report arrival immediately; St. Thomas reporting line 1-877-305-8774; the central line 1-877-529-6840 / 787-729-6840 is staffed 8 am to midnight seven days; after-hours arrivals leave a message and call back after 8 am. CBP requires face-to-face inspection unless you are enrolled in an alternative program (CBP ROAM app, or Verified Traveler incl. LBO/I-68 numbers). Have names, dates of birth, nationality and passport/visa details for everyone aboard, the boat's name and registration, and a cruising license number if you have one. Vessels 30 ft and over need a current CBP user-fee decal (buy online via DTOPS or at clearance). Noonsite: yachts check in at the ferry terminal at 3400 Veterans Drive, not the 5500 Veterans Drive administrative office. Coast Pilot: Charlotte Amalie is a customs port of entry; vessels are boarded at anchor or at their berths, with the main customs office in the Blyden Marine Terminal. Alternative: Yacht Haven Grande hosts a ROAM kiosk and an on-site CBP office by reservation (see that entry).
