Hans Lollik Islands (Coconut Bay)

18° 23.5′ N · 64° 53.9′ W · approximate

The pair of high, privately owned islands two miles off the north shore, whose Coconut Bay on Great Hans Lollik's southeast face is a reef-protected small-boat anchorage with clear water, coral and a palm-fringed beach.

Practical

Position approximate: off the southeast face of Great Hans Lollik (OpenStreetMap outline), checked to be in the water; island coordinate 18 23' 53"N, 64 54' 29"W (Wikipedia). Coast Pilot: Hans Lollik is 713 ft high; Coconut Bay is protected by the offlying White Horseface Reef and is entered through a channel southwest of the reef; Hans Lollik Rock, awash with the sea always breaking, is 0.3 mile ESE of the south point; Hansa Rock (19 ft) is close inshore at the south point. Little Hans Lollik is joined by a breaking coral ledge with an opening that needs extreme caution. Wikipedia: reportedly owned by Larry Page since a 2014 purchase (the article flags this as poorly cited), so do not land; currents between the two islands generally run west and are often swift; the west side drops to 20 to 25 ft over coral and sponges; a modern wreck has been reported in Coconut Bay; humpbacks pass January to March. Small, careful boats in good light and calm weather only.
