Esperanza's seafront promenade is the social center of south Vieques: a string of open-air bars, cafes and restaurants facing the anchorage and the cays, busiest at sunset and before the bio-bay tours.

Practical

Position is Lazy Jack's on the malecón (OpenStreetMap). Places sailors use, per Sail Caribe's charter itinerary, OpenStreetMap and Wikivoyage: Lazy Jack's (casual bar and pizza; daily 11 am to midnight, kitchen to 11 pm, +1 787-741-1447, per its website); Duffy's (bar food and drinks, adjacent to Banana's Guesthouse); Trade Winds (ocean-front restaurant); Kristy's (breakfast and lunch per OpenStreetMap, roughly 7 am to 1 pm Monday and Thursday to Sunday); Bili and La Nasa at the east end; El Quenepo (dinner, Tuesday to Sunday from 5:30 pm per an older Wikivoyage listing). Opening days change with the season, so verify locally. Small groceries: La Tienda Verde ('the green store') and Lydia's convenience store just inland.
