Ya Nui Beach and Koh Man Snorkel

7° 46.1′ N · 98° 18.4′ E

A tiny cove between Promthep Cape and the Windmill Viewpoint, split by a rocky knoll, with easy snorkelling off the rocks and a better reef in the 300 m channel to the islet of Koh Man. Phuket 101 says the bay often shelters yachts and fishing boats.

Practical

Coordinate is the OSM beach. The swim to Koh Man crosses open water used by Rawai boats and is for strong swimmers only; a dinghy or kayak is safer. Kayak about 100 THB per hour, SUP about 300 THB per hour, snorkel gear about 100 THB (Phuket 101). Calm from Dec to Mar; surf and swimming hazards in the SW monsoon. A dive centre operates near the beach. Not the same place as the SEAP 'Ya Nui Bay' anchorage on Nai Harn's north headland.

Best for

Shore snorkelling and a Koh Man reef swim

Season

Dec-Mar best; rough in SW monsoon
