Turtle Rock (Koh Similan)

8° 40.0′ N · 97° 38.6′ E · approximate

A turtle-shaped granite rock and patch reef just west of Donald Duck Bay, with swim-throughs, stacked rocks and staghorn coral, and real turtles too.

Practical

Approx: placed off the rocks west of the OSM-mapped Ao Kuerk bay. Depth 10–25 m (sand at 25 m, rocks averaging 15–20 m, a shallow section at 8–10 m to the north); current mild; beginner (Khao Lak Scuba Adventures). There is no mooring line, so descend and ascend carefully and surface away from the rock. Within dinghy range of the Donald Duck Bay anchorage.

Best for

A gentle dive straight from the main anchorage
