Sail Rock Viewpoint (Koh Similan)

8° 40.0′ N · 97° 38.8′ E · approximate

A giant balanced granite boulder perched above the north end of Donald Duck Bay. The short scramble up gives the classic Similan view down over the turquoise bay, and Wikivoyage calls it the islands' most famous view.

Practical

Approx: placed at the north end of the OSM-mapped Ao Kueak beach, where the Southeast Asia Pilot puts the 'Donald Duck rock' climbing spot; no published point coordinate was found. Access is by a short path and wooden steps from the beach, followed by a rock scramble, so wear shoes with grip and avoid the midday heat and crowds. Rangers may close the climb in wet or crowded conditions.
