8° 7.4′ N · 98° 55.5′ E
A forest temple north-northeast of Krabi with a staircase of about 1,260 steps to a golden Buddha on a karst summit at 278 m, with views over the Krabi estuary and the islands.
Practical
Coordinates from Wikipedia. Step count tagged 'citation needed' on Wikipedia (an earlier count was 1,237); Wikivoyage also gives 1,260. Monkeys roam the lower stairs and grounds: secure food and bags. Start early in the morning to avoid the heat. Dress modestly at the temple (shoulders and knees covered). Reach it by Grab or taxi from Krabi Town or the marinas.
