Phra Nang Beach Anchorage (Tham Phra Nang)
8° 0.2′ N · 98° 50.3′ E
The anchorage off Hat Phra Nang, the cliff-backed beach at the tip of the Railay peninsula with the Princess Cave at its south end and the Koh Nang rock stack just around the corner.
Practical
Southeast Asia Pilot waypoint 08°00.214N 98°50.252E, about 1.5 nm from Ao Nang. Anchor in 5-6 m on sand; room for three or four boats with reasonable swinging room in the NE monsoon. A colourful reef lies between Koh Nang and the beach: keel boats cannot pass, and dinghies should cross only at high water. Access to the beach is by water only (or on foot from Railay East). The Rayavadee resort behind the beach is for guests only.
