Koh Nang Reef Snorkel (Phra Nang)
8° 0.3′ N · 98° 50.2′ E · approximate
The colourful coral reef between the tall Koh Nang rock stack and Hat Phra Nang, which the Pilot rates excellent for snorkelling, right beside the Phra Nang anchorage.
Practical
Position approx: OpenStreetMap names the stacks off Phra Nang 'Ko Rang Nai' (this point) and 'Ko Rang Nok' (8.00399N 98.83462E); the Pilot's 'tall stack which forms Koh Nang' is taken to be the one just off the beach. Swim or dinghy from the Phra Nang anchorage (Pilot 08°00.214N 98°50.252E). The gap between the stack and the beach is impassable for keel boats and safe for dinghies only at high water; ignore the longtails that cut through. Another reef at the south end of Phra Nang beach is also good snorkelling.
Best for
