Laem Yai Pier (Ao Labu South, Koh Yao Yai)

7° 59.5′ N · 98° 34.2′ E

The concrete jetty on the headland at the south end of Ao Labu, tucked behind Koh Nui, and the landing for the Ao Labu South anchorage.

Practical

Position from the OpenStreetMap pier way (Laem Yai Pier). The Southeast Asia Pilot says the channel between Koh Nui and the headland carries about 5 m right up to the concrete jetty, and warns not to go south of the jetty head because the bank dries. Anchor in 4–5 m behind Koh Nui or close to the jetty out of the swell. A wide creek behind the village is good for dinghy exploring.

Best for

Landing from the Ao Labu South anchorage
