Ao Labu South Anchorage

7° 59.7′ N · 98° 34.2′ E

A SW-monsoon refuge tucked behind the islet of Koh Nui, halfway down Koh Yao Yai's west coast and directly east of the twin stacks of Koh Sup, with a wide creek for dinghy exploring.

Practical

Southeast Asia Pilot waypoint 07°59.698N 98°34.229E, about 17 nm from Yacht Haven. From the south, take the channel between Koh Nui and the headland, which carries 5 m up to the concrete jetty on the headland. Anchor in 4–5 m behind Koh Nui or close to the jetty, out of the swell. Don't go south of the jetty head, where the bank dries. From the north, watch for a rocky outcrop half a mile north of Koh Nui that shows only at low tide. A wide creek behind the corrugated-iron village is good for dinghy exploring.
