Koh Talabeng & Lanta Noi Cliffs Anchorage
7° 37.7′ N · 99° 8.1′ E
A perfectly protected slot between the vertical limestone cliffs of Koh Talabeng and Lanta Noi, one of the few Phang Nga-style karst islands you can reach on this coast.
Practical
Southeast Asia Pilot (60 nm from Ao Chalong): anchor in 3-6 m. Explore the cliffs, caves and mangrove creeks by dinghy or sea canoe. North of here the shallow mangrove river between Lanta Noi and the mainland is undisturbed until the car-ferry pier. Enter in good light. This is the published Lanta Noi anchorage: no cruising guide we found gives a separate anchorage on Lanta Noi itself; the slot lies about 1.5 km off Lanta Noi's east shore (OpenStreetMap coastline at about 99.121 E on this latitude).
Best for
