Koh Som (Bangrak islet)
9° 35.6′ N · 100° 3.5′ E
The small uninhabited islet off Samui's northeast tip, north of Bangrak; the narrow channel inside it is the short cut into Bangrak and Bophut from the east.
Practical
Position is the centre of the OSM islet outline (way 239872341). Southeast Asia Pilot and the Island Spirit guide give a minimum of about 4 m in the channel between Koh Som and Samui; deep-draft boats go outside. Wikipedia's Ko Samui article mentions uninhabited Ko Som near Bang Rak. Not to be confused with the island of the same Thai name (Ko Som) at the south end of the Ang Thong group, south of Koh Phaluai (OSM way 24056759).
