Koh Miang Park HQ Anchorage (#4)
8° 34.4′ N · 97° 38.2′ E
The anchorage off the Similan National Park headquarters beach on Island #4. It is the place to check in with the park and the only spot in the group with a park restaurant.
Practical
Southeast Asia Pilot position 08°34.365N, 97°38.209E. Anchor in about 12 m where the sandy bottom starts to fall away. The anchorage is completely open to the northeast, so it is not a good overnight stop when the NE monsoon is strong or unsettled; move to Koh Miang East or Donald Duck Bay. Commercial operators must report to HQ here to have their passenger and vessel vouchers checked, and private yachts can pay their fees here. The park restaurant on Koh Miang is listed as open 8am to 2pm daily (Thai National Parks, 2026 page) or 8am to 8pm (Wikivoyage), so check hours on the day. No fuel or water for yachts.
Best for
Checking in with the park and paying fees
Season
Mid-October to mid-May; untenable in strong NE winds
