Phuket 101: three roads lead up (Soi Wachira by Vachira Hospital, the long winding Hongyok Utis Road past Bangkok Hospital Phuket, and Soi Chimbi off Mae Luang Road), and a small staircase behind a large Chinese cemetery climbs on foot to a hilltop temple. Long-tailed macaques gather around car parks and terraces: secure bags and phones and do not feed them. Phuket 101 rates Tunk Ka Cafe its favourite; the best tables go first.
