Golden Pearl Beach and Andaman Beach (Long Beach), Koh Jum
7° 47.5′ N · 98° 58.8′ E
Several kilometres of mostly empty yellow sand on Koh Jum's southwest coast, Golden Pearl Beach in the south and Andaman Beach to the north, with bungalows on or just behind the sand and sunsets over Phi Phi.
Practical
Position from the OpenStreetMap beach outline (Hat Yao, Long Beach). At low tide you can walk the whole west coast over the rocks between beaches in under 2 hours; it is harder at high tide (andamanadventures.com). The reefs off the island were badly damaged in the 2004 tsunami, so the snorkelling is better at Bamboo and Mosquito islands near Phi Phi (thailandmagazine.com).
Best for
Long sunset beach walks
