Silhouette Swell and Season Note (NW Monsoon Exposure)

Silhouette is a southeast-trades destination: the north and east-shore anchorages sit in the lee from May to October, but the northwest monsoon (roughly December to March) can make them untenable.
Practical
Pin approx, at Anse Mondon. SE trades blow 15-30 kn May-Oct, occasionally much more (Moorings). Calmest conditions come in April-May and October-November when the trades ease and swell drops. The Moorings puts Silhouette only on its southeast-season routes (Beau Vallon - Silhouette - Anse Lazio), not the NW-season ones. Arrive in morning light for the best visibility through the granite-strewn approaches.
